Switch presents two evenings of the next wave of Singaporean Chinese indie bands from the roster of record label Live For The Moment.

Founded in 2010, Live For The Moment (LFTM) promotes original music by Singaporean Chinese bands. Currently with a roster of five bands, each band will be playing a set of their songs on 2 and 3 July at Switch. ah5ive

An alternative rock band who weaves in their regrets in their songwriting. Through their music, audience can feel the irony in life and hopefully rethink about their own for the better future. ah5ive has participated in Esplanade's Huayi Festival”, Malaysia's Music Reunion 2010 and Hong Kong's Music Matters 2010. Two of their songs were also included in a Chinese bands compilation project “Return To Base”.

Elyzia (一粒沙)

Elyzia was formed in year 2008 with the intention to write and play our own original music and to bring it across the world. Elyzia writes about humans, the society, and world issues. Elyzia is translated to "一粒沙'' in Chinese, which means a grain of sand as a reminder to the band that no matter how small we are, we need to believe in ourselves and fight for our destiny. Some of Elyzia’s originals like “Luna” is currently featured in the Asiasoft’s online dancing game “Audition Dance Battle Season 2” and “Beyond” was selected as the theme song of a Malaysia Online Education Documentary – “青春狂想曲"

LGF (Little Green Frog)

In the kaleidoscopic, multi-cultural and Western influenced beautiful city of Singapore, the Little Green Frogs are neither East nor West; they love fun and fun loves them! Instilling all these different elements into their music, they present Mandarin electro pop rock “Singaporean Style”. LGF-ers are always bursting with zest and energy for each and every gig, and through their own brand of music, they want you to love life like they do! (insert MP3 song/player)

Redpoll (红顶雀）

The original Redpoll was formed in 2006, covering Mandarin songs with punk-rock elements in various local Chinese indie rock gigs. Believing in carrying an indentity and signature tone just like the Redpolls do, they started on a journey of writing their own original songs. The current 4-piece band consists of music enthusiasts wanting to share the eclectic blend of folk/pop/rock sounds to the masses. Breaking away fro the lush multi instrumental arrangements in the past, Redpoll's current musical direction has moved to a more effect driven with complex rhythmic drumming and a deconstructed form of sound. Lyrically, their songs tell of realities and complex emotions of city dwellers.

Phaze (疯十代)

In the crazy words of Phaze themselves:

There was a planet called Crazture and it sent four of their most anticipated Crazinians down to Earth ~ ‘beep beep’ ! And with their crazy telepathic powers, they will spread the new disease called “Phaze” to the world through generations to come. The end.
