THE SWITCH GANG

THE SWITCH GANG

The Switch Gang is everything you love. From the old to the new, the east to the west, the sweetest ballad to the most rocking anthem, the band has got it covered. The guys are veterans of the Singapore mando-pop scene and have played in some of the biggest and most successful live music venues in Singapore. They have also done stints in the vibrant Macau casino entertainment scene to great reception.

Leon Lim Yu Zhi (林昱志) participated in Singapore’s first televised Chinese singing competition “Project Superstar Season 1” emerging top 12 over 4500 participants. His enthusiasm and passion to learn had since helped him venture further into the music industry. His first self composed song ‘Give Me My Life’ and was released in compilation album ‘ARC Genesis’ on August 2007. He was engaged as the singer of “男人香水/Man’s Perfume” one of the top 12 composed song in a local song composition competition “S-POP Hurray”. Leon is currently on tour with international pop star Wang Lee Hom in his "Music Man 2 World Tour" as his harmonising vocalist. Leon performs with The Switch Gang on Friday nights.

At 22, Ruth Kueo Miaoru has garnered some of the industry’s most influential personalities’ affirmations as a promising singer, songwriter and all rounded musician. Despite her tender age, Miaoru has lived a lot of life. She is a master when it comes to relating her personal experiences into her performances. Her ability to tap into her life experiences has allowed her to write songs that resonate profoundly with audiences of most ages. Miaoru delivers maturity in her songs but evidence of her youth shines through subtly with lingering pockets of hope for true love, adding charm and life to her creations. Her journey as a local musician has seen numerous ups and downs but her constant pursuit of excellence has kept her ahead of the highly competitive industry. Miaoru has taken part and won numerous awards in local singing competitions and most recently represented Singapore at the Million Star Season Two '12 and a PK contender in another Taiwan popular talent search show, 超级偶像‘13. Miaoru has been the go-to person for artistes like JJ Lin, Joi Chua and others for song demos. TAY KEXIN (鄭可欣)

KEXIN

Often described as a petite powerhouse, Kexin has been garnering a following in the Singapore music scene since her first solo act at Sentosa's Jazz by the Beach 2008. Now a  familiar face on local stages, Kexin's fluent ability across a magnanimous repertoire of pop and jazz classics explains her regular appearance at The Esplanade stages and countless of events. Joining the Summertimes Big Band in November 2010, the youngest member took the vocal helm at the band's most recent MediaCorp engagements - including the opening act of MediaCorp Festival 2010 and at the Elle Awards 2010, as well as the most recent Opening of Mosaic Festival 2011 at the Esplanade Waterfront.

ALFRED SIM (沈志豪)

Alfred Sim is a highly sought after performer for his versatility. His ability to silence the audience with his artistry has been witnessed at almost every occasion at which he performs – beneath his cool, collected demeanour lies a talent to impersonate singers from across genres – he can mesmerize the crowd with an Andy Lau or Jacky Chueng's classics and even Louis Armstrong’s signature husky tone with “What A Wonderful World”. Alfred can also cross over to huge rock ballads or to nostalgic jazz standards. A talent definitely to watch out for - he's going to go places.
